Why Parents are on Facebook

Our new friends at OnlineEducation.net  sent us this great infographic. We’re in three different schools in our area this week, so this was really timely. Take a peek – where do you fit in? Use it as a conversation starter with your kids. Maybe it’s time to make a pact – friend me and I promise not to say anything embarrasing about you online. Its worth a shot!

hi..not surewhere to post this. so here goes. my late brother in law was convicted of transporting obsenitys to a minor..he got 27 months. was still facing local charges. this was against my daughter who was 13 at the time. anyway..he killed himself in prison. my sister still has his facebook page open. my daughter can see his page and i cant figure out how to get his page off. he is not a REGISTERED sex offender only because he is dead. but to have the account taken off they must be a registered sex offnder. my stupid sister will not take it down. she lost her whole family for defending this man and she is dead to me and we no longer speak..dont know what to do? please help!!!

    Cyndi,
I am so sorry for your pain. Hug your daughter and help her know that she is not at fault. There are a couple of things you can do. First of all if your pages are not marked private, please do so immediately. Then delete your brother in law’s page from your friends and block that page. To block that page, go to the little padlock in the upper right hand corner and click on it. You will see “How do I stop someone from bothering me?”, click on that and then enter the name or email and that page will be blocked from her sight. You can also report the page to

    Good luck and stay strong.
